I hope your week is going well. Perth is rainy today. I overheard someone say ‘good weather for ducks’. It’s also great weather for my veggie patch. Grow, veggie patch, grow.
Anyway, I thought I’d provide you with a freebie meal planner today (the pic links to a printable PDF).
I don’t always meal plan, but you see, I’m slowly, slowly trying to convert Rosco to eat better.
If I’ve learnt one thing over the years, it is that you can’t force things.
When I truly analyse what he eats, he doesn’t do too badly, but the thing is that he eats so much. So he eats the healthy stuff and has a huge meal (seriously, like I’ll make roast potatoes with dinner and I’ll do five just for him!), but then ten minutes later he is hungry again, so he if I don’t have something good for him, he’ll grab a pack of chips or something.
So, I have to wow him with an abundance of options that he’ll like and one meal at a time, I’m slowly getting there.
Next stop: world domination.
But doing this (converting his eating, not world domination) requires preparation.
We have this great magnet on our fridge, but sometimes I like to sit and properly plan and write down what we’re going to eat.
And when I do, it’s so rewarding.
What strategies do you have to get small kids and big (31 year old!) kids to eat?
